Dylan as a brand have a reputation that proceeds them and so we were thrilled when they decided to be part of the GVSCo family! (available here)
Dylan Longbottom starting surfing at 6 years old in Cronulla, Sydney and shaped his first board in 1999, and still happens to believe it was the best board he has ever ridden! He is now based out of Bali. Mainly because Canggu is one of his favourite places to surf, has all kinds of waves and the community is so close, vibrant and they love surfing!
His brand has grown in popularity throughout the years and they were even chosen to be the brand used in the 2015 version of Point Break. They had to make up 20 different boards for the production and were ridden by Dylan himself and Laurie Towner throughout filming.
One of the most highly regarded surfer shaper’s in the world, Dylan is known for his big wave antics and his free surfing all around the globe.
The boards that you’ll find here are the end result of every tube, every air, every carve has made – It all flows through.
As one of the worlds best surfer/shaper’s, Dylan uses the direct influence and experience to create the most functional and responsive board’s he can.
With it being a known fact that he is a true traveller and test’s his equipment in all waves and condition’s, you know you can have confidence in what you’re getting.
Based out of Canguu in Bali and Woolongong in Australia, the brand has been growing significantly and is now available across the UK and Europe.
Make sure and pop over to the site, to check our Dylan’s boards. We are sure you wont be disappointed!
We are very happy to announce that our collaboration with the lovely guys at Submariner has finally launched on our website.
The majority of brands we team up with are usually found via hours of trawling through Instagram but these guys were actually recommended to us by some of our most hardy surfing friends.
These guys have been around since 2012 and have built themselves a reputation for creating clothing and technical gear that will last and is fit for purpose. We also happen to think they just also look bloody cool!
The following is a brief history of their brand:
Submariner was founded on the North Devon coast in 2012, with the intention of creating practical clothes made ethically and entirely in the British Isles. From a background steeped in surfing, climbing, and windsurfing, Howard Davey drew heavily on traditional maritime influences as well as the creative input from the wider community of north Devon and Cornwall based artists.
Along this Journey, long standing friend and like minded surfer Ben Thompson joined in 2014, to become partner and co founder, and help develop Submariner to increase its offering to the wider surfing community. Today, Submariner sells through a network of local Devon and Cornwall based stockists and relies heavily on its support/feedback from the Maritime community it was setup to provide for.
We are extremely proud to have these guys as part of our community as they fit the bill to an absolute T and we hope that you will all enjoy what they are doing as much as we do.
You can check out their full range over on the GVSCo. website, so pop on over and take a look – we are sure you won’t be disappointment!
It has been a long road since 2014 and the humble beginnings of our social media campaigns. Over the two years we have developed and built an amazing following and that is down to you guys, believing, sharing and supporting us. We cannot thank you enough; all the time and work our end would have been for nothing if it wasn’t for all your constant support.
All of this love and work has brought us to this point the WEBSITE LAUNCH! We are so stoked to say that the website is now complete and live:
Please get online and check it out, and let us know what you think. Additionally please spread the word as much as you can.
GVS Co. was set up with one mission in mind – to create a place where the surfing community can access the best independent and emerging brands throughout the surfing world. Our aim was to champion the little guy, promote the true craftsmen and to keep you up to date with the next big thing and we certainly believe we’ve achieved this.
We are working with people that we like and respect and it is very important to us that everyone we take on this journey, shares our passion for ethical manufacturing and are having a positive impact on the world.
We are constantly growing and evolving, bringing new brands and products on board so take a look around, sign up to the mailing list and keep in touch, and make sure you come along for the ride!
Much love, stay stoked,
We are incredibly lucky here at GVSCo. to work with some amazing people and brands. We are really happy to introduce the latest crew to join our community.
Revolwe™ and why we are doing this;
We’ve been surfing and doing water sports our entire life and feel a strong connection to the ocean.
There’s no better feeling to paddle out for pumping waves with your closest mates.
To see the stoke on each others face and just be there, in that magic moment!
This is something we want to give to our future kids, to your kids and everyone elses.
To be able to do this we need to enlighten the importans to keep on recycling and use waste as a resource along with sustainable and eco-friendly materials and to prove that you can create performing products with those materials.
Unfortunately the ocean is one of the most polluted places on earth.
Only ≈5% of plastics are recycled effectively, ≈40% ends up in landfills and ≈33% ends up in our oceans.
That is 8 million tonnes of plastic leaking out in the oceans every year, killing the marine life and polluting the waves we love!
That is why we want to create the best surf products for both you as a surfer and the environment, without sacrificing performance.
We are developing a few products at the moment but first up is our leash.
In our leashes we don’t use Neoprene for the ankle cuff, instead we are using Yulex Pure™.
By using that we are reducing the co2 emitted in the polymer manufacturing process by up to 80% compared to conventional neoprene.
We are also using polyester made from certified 100% post-consumer PET bottles, every 500 gram of recycled polyester yarn used in our products reduces
raw material usage and energy consumption by up to 61000 BTU’s, this is equivalent of 2 liters of gasoline.
Revolwe stands for;
Recycle – Use waste as a resource
Evolution – Develop the future
We – We are all in this together
A few more guides from the guys over at SBS boards to help us improve and develop our surfing skills.
Definitely going to be hitting some of these up before heading out on our surf trips this summer!
The lovely guys over at SBS boards have put together a great video for anyone who is looking to get into Paddleboarding this summer and or even if you are just looking to improve.
We hope you find it as useful as we do!
You can also check out their selection of lovely Paddleboards here.
